Spoons

Featured Replies

Anyone on here fish a spoon? Just wondering what set up you would use fishing a spoon?

Thanks

Joe

I love throwing weedless spoons around the edges of weed beds.  I cast them as far as I can and crank it back sometimes throwing a couple jerks and twitches in.  There great in fall when the bass are shallow and feeding. There also good for covering a lot of water.  I thrown them on 10 to 12 pound mono in open water and heavier braid near weeds.  Use a medium heavy rod.  For trailers I like to take a soft jerk bait and cut it in half where the tail portion meets the thicker body.  Then take the tail end and thread it on.  You can also use a grub.  I hope this is helpful

Wish i had $.02 worth, but i don't. The next fish i catch on a spoon will be my first. And that will be tough, because i haven't had one in my box for 20 yrs. I know they work, but not for me. Can anyone tell us a situation where nothing but a spoon would work? Any help is welcome... :-/
