  1. Burning, burning, burning!!!! Cant beat a spinner bait zipping right under the surface in the back of a cove. I'll also burn lipless cranks. If that dont get 'em ill burn a storm kicking minnow.

The largie action has been sloooooowwwwww but the smallies are really heating up in the creek I fish. Me and my dad floated a good section of the creek about a week ago and found some real hot spots and ive caught well over 100 fish in my last 4 outings. I was on the water by 7:00 a.m. yesterday and finally remembered to bring my camera. I started catching them on small buzz baits and then went to my got to baits; Storm kicking minnow swim bait and a stanley finesse jig. I was burning the swimbait and slowly dragging the jig. I didnt catch any monsters but heres a few pics.
  3. I was fishing this morning on my favorite stretch of my smallie stream when i landed this fish. He had these nasty sores all over him and they were actually bleeding. I've caught dozens of smallies out of this same stretch of water and havn't caught another like this. Just to be safe i killed the fish to keep this from possibly spreading and to put him out of his misery. Other than the sore he appeared healthy and fought like a tank. I was just wondering if anyone had any information on this. Thanks!
  4. Great PB man! Sounds like an awsome day
  5. I dont own a boat yet and the closest thing i have to one is my canoe and my float tube. So when my neighboor down the road asked if I wanted to go out I was pumped. We went to a little lake in PA called Cross Creek Lake. I didn't really know what to expect. When we got there there were already a bunch of boats on the water. While we were waiting to launch the boat I ended up catching 2 nice ones on a t-rigged zoom fineese worm and two more on a 1/8 oz. spinnerbait which was an awsome start. The only problem was the guy with the boat isn't much in to bassin' and is mainly a pan fish guy but I made due. We trolled around a little and I only had one hit on my spinnerbait. Then we headed down to the dam and I imediatly hooked into this decent fish. I ended up catching two more on the spinnerbait and another on a drop shot rig. We trolled around a little more with no luck and the got fed up with all the other boats and loaded up. On our way home we decided to hit a farm pond that he knew about. As soon as we got there I knew it was gonna be good. The pond was awsome and actually had some flooded timber. Here's the pond. Right off the bat I hooked into this good 2 11 fish on a spinnerbait. The i actually started catching some perch which were something i've never caught in a pond around here. They were loving the spinnerbait too. I fished around and caught a bunch more nice fish and missed a hawg in the trees. Today was great!
  6. A little over 4. Nice fish
  7. I never had any confidence in spinnerbaits until last fall. Here's my advice: start by downsizing, I almost only throw 1/8 oz baits such as Boo Yah Pond Magic spinnerbait, 1/8oz Stanly Wedge's and little Strike King's. Then start by fishing them shallow. My favorite and most productive technique is burning them just under the surface. Alredy this year I've caught the 8 pounder in my avitar, a 4 11 and a bunch around 3. Trust me, if you stick with it they will most likely become one of you go to's. Good luck!
  8. Thats great man you gotta love the buzz baits
  9. Awsome man! Gotta love buzzin them baits

  14. Im gona be on the water by 5:30 tomorow morning in my canoe. First thing Im going with is a buzz bait. If that doesn't produce I'll try a poper, spook, soft jerk bait on burning a spinner bait right under the surface. This time of year Ill be casting parrallel to shore or to laydowns in pretty shallow water. Im also planning on fishing the backs of coves. Good luck man
  15. Man thats a monster! Looks to me about 8-9 pound if not bigger

  20. Haha sound like a rough day man! Nice fish tho
  21. Back when I fisrst started fishing a lot I took out one of my novice buddies (now pretty good) and he put a peice of chewed winterfresh gum on a 2/0 worm hook and caught a bass. Who'd of thunk it
  22. I just started fishing a pond that sounds a lot like that but I dont know if its quite that deep. Really the only thing that'll get them during the day is a super realistic jerk bait such as an X-Rap or a drop shot. I like to drop shot tiny soft jerk baits. I just got some seally nice realistic soft swim baits made by strike king called Shadolicious. There super real looking and im deffinetly gonna give them a shot next time they just might produce a hawg or two.
  23. Welcome man! Heres what i would start with: -1/8 oz spinners bait (if you fishing ponds and small lakes) -Some buzzbaits -Shallow cranks -Soft Jerk baits -An X-Rap or two -Plastic craws -Snag-Proof frogs
