knots for joining two lines?

Featured Replies

What knots do you recommend for joining two lines together?? Do you use the same knot for joining two different kinds of line (braid & mono) as you do for joining the same kinds of line (say fluorocarbon)?

Uni to uni (double uni). Works for same line, also works for braid to mono/flouro. Relatively easy to tie.

X 2.  There are other knots that according to others here work just as well. As with any knot, properly tying it makes a big difference .

3X I have used a nail knot, but I have had them slip so I want back to the uni - to- uni knot

Adding line, same type and diameter: Blood Knot

Fluorocarbon or mono to braid: Alberto's Knot

Hey thanks again for that link Roadwarrior. I was practicing tying those Alberto Knots the other day while the NFL Draft was on. I like it better than the Double Uni becasue it has a smaller profile, although it's not as easy to tie.
