Shimano Stradic vs Symetre Spinning reels

Featured Replies

I've been using a Shimano Symetre 2500 spinning reel for about a year now along side my baitcasting combos for light weight lures and fishing plastics.  I'm looking to add another spinning rig to my boat and wonder what your opinions are about spending the extra dollars for the Stradic?

You can't go wrong with either reel. The Stradic is a very nice reel, but don't forget about the Saros either. It falls in between the Stradic and the Symetre.

My honest answer would be it depends on how often you expect to use spinning gear.

I use Stradics because I fish with spinning gear 75% of the time.  However, I have used my brother's Symetre and its very nice.

For occasional use I would choose the Symetre.

I tried to place an order with them but when I went to pay by paypal I got the following message - "This recipient is currently unable to receive money."

Has anyone ordered from them?  Are they reliable?

Spinning is our game, so we always have Symetres, Stradics and Stellas onboard.

Frankly, I've got to look down and read the label before I know what I'm holding.

That said, the Stradic is a better reel, but the Symetre gives you more bang-for-the-buck.

It's best to live within your means, instead of someone else's.

thats true, symetres are great reels. i fished them for several years.

after i bought my first stradic i could definately tell the difference and havent really felt the "want" to upgrade.

CI4 looks nice though...

I have one of each, the Symetre is a more recent purchase.

I absolutely love the Symetre, it is my most used spinning reel I would say, and I see no need to buy another stradic.

Actually have 3 Sahara's, and I do feel the Symetre is in a different league.

I have a Pflueger Supreme I like as well, but my next spinning reel will be another Symetre to upgrade the Saharas.
