what is the best way to rig these for flipping into heavy cover?

3/0 texas pegged 1oz tungsten works well for me.

there is only one way to rig it for heavy cover   pegg weight texas rig    i rarely trig tubes but for cover u have no choice   make sure when that bass hits it make sure they have the entire thing in their mouth to get a good set   make sure u are using heavy braid or fluoro with a heavy rod and reel  

You can rig it texas style, and thats good most of the time. But if you want to think outside the box and do something the bass probably havent seen, you can rig it weedless on a drop sot rig. use a heavy wait and this way you can shake it and jig it up and down in one spot. use a shorter leader too.

thats a good idea. i think i'll do that. and maybe soak some cotten balls in scent and cram then in the tube too so it will hold more scent and disperse it instead of have it leak out.

I put some of those tube weights u insert into the tube first and run the hook through the loop and then skin hook it.  Its AWESOME!!!

Put chunks of salt in the tube.

Put Alka Seltzer in the tube.

Put a cotton ball soaked in your favorite scent in the tube.

Does the heavy vegetation have holes in it?  Any wood?  How is the bottom, soft or hard?  How deep? Can you flip or pitch into the cover?  Better to throw your bait on the outside edge of the cover?  How far is the deep water from the cover, i.e going from 2 feet to 5 feet?  Will your dad operate the trolling motor for you?  What will be the water temperature?  Bass going to spawn in the cover? Does the bottom change from soft to hard to rock to gravel to sand to mud? Is the cover floating? Is the cover weeds and grass? Are you fishing after a big rain?  Postfrontal conditions? More than 8 feet deep? Will dad take a photo of you holding up some grass?  Will you smile in the photo? Do you mind losing your lure? Can you trolling motor cut through the cover to get into it deeper? Can you take a pole and put a hole in the cover and then return after an hour (or longer) and fish the hole or holes you made? What knot will you use on your bait?

Remember, bass holding on the outer edge of the cover will be the most agressive.

You may have better luck throwing a half to an ounce jig and pig on heavy line, like 20 to 25 pound test.  Or a plastic crawfish. Or big worms.  Or pulling a weedless frog over the cover. Or jumping in and seeing what you can grab with your hands.

Thats the way I do it also those things work great

ummm......well....see i really dont know 75% of those questions you asked. i havent had a chance to go to these place and use my fish finder, so i have no clue how deep or what the bottom is like. i also dont really know what kind of cover i'll use it it, i just wanted to know some good ways to rig it incase i see a likely spot that i think would do well. the cover would mainly be lily pads, grass, wood, laydowns, etc...

my prop gets tangled pretty bad in grass too so thats hard to access. my dad will take my photo and i will smile if you want me to ;D

and no i still have some geometry homeowork to do ;D
