Mossyback vs. IMX

Featured Replies

How do they compare sensitivity wise? I did a search and I learned that IMX and GLX rods are carbon scrim where mossybacks are not. What I want to know is how do they compare in real world fishing situations?

G. Loomis earned their reputation starting with

the IMX series. I think there are better options

at the Mossyback pricing point. Specifically, I

would suggest looking to the St. Croix Avid.

the mossyback bcr will feel noticeably heavier, not as crisp as the comparable glx bcr.

they are faster than the comparable power in the imx mbr line...but will still feel heavier and not as crisp here, as well.

as far as overall sensitivity, they do compare well to other non-carbon scrimmed rods such as the avids, the cumaras, the dobyn's, etc...but, as stated, at a generally higher price point than those competitors.

If you are thinking about an IMX, you won't be disappointed. I've had one for about 5 years and I love it. In fact I like it so much I'm buying another one tomorrow :)
