I am looking into a used Daiwa td sol baitcaster. What are the limits on this reel as far as line and lure weight? I plan on throwing some tubes and some T-rigs and maybe a C-rig. What different applications do you use your TD Sol for? I plan on using a Loomis MBR783c 6'6"-med/heavy-10/17 pd test- 1/4 / 3/4 oz lure weight. Am I asking too much of this reel?

The Sol will hand handle that just fine.  The Sol excels with lighter baits, but handles heavier bait well, too.

The sol is excellent for throwing anything, but finesse baits are where it excels.  If you have the money opt for the daiwa alphas reel.  It's much smoother and can handle weights down to 1/16th oz easily.

The problem has a lots less to do than what it can do vs  what you want it to do, if you want to fish with heavy line ( 15+ lbs test ) and you don 't mind fishing with an arm length of line the reel will do it, but if you want more line then better look somewhere else because that spool is pretty shallow and there are no deeper spools available for that reel.

i have a sol  and i can throw tubes worms frogs jigs ect.  it is the smothest reel i have ever had and i have never had a problem with it
