Revo SX spool tension knob.

Featured Replies

Has anyone else tried taking the little clicker spring out? I personally don't like it, and I'd like to take it out, but I'm worried if I do that it could come loose and come off while I'm fishing. Curious if anyone else has taken the spring out and if its stayed in place.

Take it out.  It's not going to hurt it.  Take the little black serated thing off that the copper clicker rubs on, too.

The spool tension knob on the Revo S doesn't back off without the clicker.  The Revo S sideplate is exactly the same as the sideplate on the Revo SX - even to the point of having the holes needed to afix the black serated piece properly.

Ahh, thats good to hear. I wasn't aware the S didn't use the clicker, so that makes me feel better about it. Thanks for the info!

All of the Revo' use o-rings to keep the cast control caps from backing off.

But there is a difference in the way they stack the shims. Watch out when you remove the clicker system from the SX, you will need to replace that stack with the stock shim system from the S for proper free spool adjustment tolerances...
