Guys,

Just noticed that Bass pro put these reels on clearance. Played with one at the store and seems nice and smooth and the higher gear ration I think would be great for just about everything except crankbaits. Anyone got an opinion on these?

Looks up to snuff in my eyes.

I know in the real world (pun intended!) that folks use and like their Quantum reels. But here on the internet they get no Luv.

Unfortunately RussBert is right.....If it's anything up to par with the Accurist,it should be a decent reel. I like my Accurist PT baitcaster.

Cabela's has the Catalyst on sale too for $80 (they come in lefty models)

Don't have experience with the Reax, but the Catalyst is great and even better on sale.

I bought mine at regular price awhile back and it has served me well.

If you don't end up buying the Reax, get the Catalyst.

Is the Cabela's sale only on the lefty models? Cause I use right handed bait casters.

JM I have a Reax and all my reels are quantums energys. The Reax is nice and on sale a great reel to get. I find it to be a smooth caster and great reel for moving baits. Its not as smooth as the energys but on sale a great reel.

Just checked the site and yes only the lefty models of the Catalyst are on sale.
