Your Favorite Braking System?

I was just wondering what you guys prefer for brakes on a baitcaster?

I was a centrifugal guy up until a week ago when I tried Daiwa's Magforce-Z.

My second favorite has to be SHIMANO's centrifugals though.

I cant stand regular mags though.

Centrifugal brakes are easier to use for me.I backlash much, much less with that kind of braking system.

It really don't matter because I'm really liking my Daiwa Fuego and Revo STX 09' as well.

Magforce V.

Makes life easier when I'm throwing 1/8 and 1/4 oz baits. And when I'm skipping light jigs.

The braking system on my Calais DC is the best I've owned. It's noisy, but pretty cool. Pay a big premium for it though.

The DBS system on my '10 Abu Premiers is for sure 2nd place. You can turn one on and the other off, combine them, etc. I have two other reels with DBS systems and they're not as good as the Premier. They really nailed DBS on the these. I have some newer Shimanos, but no Daiwa baitcasters to compare to.

A well educated thumb! ;)

The dual braking on my patriarch xt works great.  I also really like the shimano centrifugal system.  When I change between the two there is a difference in casting technique.  The shimano will let you get away w/ those quick hard throws,  while the pat. requires a smoother more consistant toss.  I can cast my pat. the farthest though.

X2

I'll have to go with centrifugal brakes on this one. My first bait caster had magnetic brakes and that's what i learned on, but not until i got a centrifugal brake system reel did i realize how much better they were for me. I also own a dual braking reel but never turn the mag brakes on.
