What you are describing is "Tex-posed, skin hooked".

A traditional T-rig (Texas-rig) is simply a weight and exposed hook:

However, I rig most "Texas-rigs" what is called a "T-rig,

weightless & weedless" just as Joel W described. All my

T-rigs are Tex-posed, skin hooked.

thanks to all who responded to my dumb question. i knew what a texas rig was but i just didnt put two and two together. duh.
