Zillion Regular vs. Coastal

Are there any perormance differences between the Zillion Coastal and the Regular Zillion?

I know the Coastal has I higher gear ratio (7.3:1 vs 7.1:1) and anti-corrosive treatment, and blue anodized instead of red, and a spool thats not fully ported.

So is there a performance difference because of basically a different spool and more anti-corrosive bearings?

Im kinda only asking because im partial to the Anodized Blue color. I dont like the red so much. However if the Regular zillion out performs the Coastal, i'd much rather get a regular one.

By definition the Coastal reel is made to be more corrosion resistant.   Other than that and the features you noted, its the same reel.

Its the Zillion they made for us, Go Chants lol

Haha but I think Redline got it, its just a Zillion made for saltwater use.

No significant performance advantages as far as I can tell. However, if you are going to be putting that Zillion on a Dobyns Champion then the choice is quite simple.

The Zillion Dobyns was what I was planning on if there were no performance differences.

But, my main concern is the spool. The regular is fully ported, while the Coastal just has alot of small indentations, Will they cast the same? Or are the spools the same weight, and will cast equally, just different designs?

If there are any differences in casting between the two, I have not noticed. I do use my Zillions for throwing heavier baits, but as long as you won't be consistently going under 3/8oz (as I can't speak for these weights) I don't think you will notice much difference, if any.
