Flourocarbon

Featured Replies

What is the best flourocarbon that has low memory and is durable. I know all lines are going to have memory but I want to try something different, I've tried Berkely 100% and that seems to be the best so far. I'm looking at the BPS Flourocarbon but would like to get some ideas first.

Since that has been asked multiple times, if you do a site search for fluorocarbon you will get lots of opinions already expressed.

Seagaur InvizX has extremley low memory for a fluoro, while you can saw AbrazX on wood and it wont fray. A nice medium to me is the BPS Fluoro.

My new favorite is P-line Halo.  I used Berkley and it is good line but it does have high memory and high(er) stretch.  One thing to note is the Berkley is a little stronger for it's rating, however it is VERY thick as well, it's good line but I prefer the Halo personally.

You are exactly right. Basically what this means is you can compare 6lb 100% to any other brands 8lb. If there are any doubts that 100% is the best, just ask the Elite series guys, and the FLW Tour guys, 100% is the most used line at the highest level, meaning they trust it to make their living. At the FLW CUp this past year atleast 4 of the top 6 were using 100%, including Larry Nixon who was throwing braid/fluoro combo I believe.

I wonder how many of those top 4 anglers were sponsored by Berkley.

Do you believe anglers only use their sponsors stuff? I am sponsored by them myself, but that was just a bonus cause I never would stray from the brand anyway. In the past Ive tried em all, loved PLine, except that I got seeral bad spools of line, so to me thats bad. I dont just fish for fun, I fish for money. Dependability is of up most importance. There were alot of anglers sponsored by other company as well, that didnt make the top 6, including locals.

If price is of no concern, Tatsu is the best line I have ever fished.

If price is a concern, and you are looking for something that is readily available the Seagaur InvizX is your best bet.

while seaguar Invizx is a great line that is very manageable with low memory it has alot of stretch..

Cabelas 100% is pretty good and has very little memory. Used it on one of my spinning setups in the 6# test and it worked very well. I've heard good things about the BPS XPS but haven't used it.

Invizx has too much stretch for me in the lower tests, 6-12 is like a rubber band... The higher pound tests seem to be a bit better. After trying Shooter, to vicious, and everything in between, I've happily went back to the original P-Line fluorocarbon. For the price, I don't think it can be beat.

Right now, my flouro of choice is the 100%. It's just good line, and cheap, too.

I was wondering the same thing. :;)

Guess that speaks for itself, the guys throwing Berkley Trilene made the top 6. Sounds good to me. ;) To each their own, I am confident with 100% fluoro Trilene.
