NEW GEARS

Featured Replies

Anyone ever replaced the gears in a pflueger?  Where did you find parts?

You could contact Pure Fishing.  Or you could try Mike's Reel Repair.

Depending on the model, the gearset of an Abu Revo could drop in.

or maybe even replacing the gears in a quantum code.  i just have too many speedy reels and need a slower gear for crankbaits and dont feel like goin out and buyin a reel.

With Quantum, You would have to go to Quantum and see if they have a gearset that ould be dropped into a Code.  I am not familiar enough with Quantum to know if this would work.

well i read on an earlier post that the bps pro qualifier gears fit a patriarch.  would they fit a summit?

pm cart7t I remember him venturing into swapping revo and patriarch gears when the patriarchs first came out.  I think he still is on here....there was someone else trying it as well but I don't remember who.

Check with ABU at 800-228-4272

ask for Revo Winch part numbers:

1141296 (main gear)

1125752 (pinion gear)

tell them what you want to put them into just to be sure they'll fit.

I am not sure if it would work.  The newer Pure Fishing reels, which share the same frame can swap gears.  I am not sure whether the Summit falls in that category.  I also know that the Summits came in the standard spool and wide spool versions.  If one fits, then the other will nto likely fit.

I am sorry I cannot be of more help with that one.

Something else to consider is that down gearing means that the main gear is smaller. This may mean the drag washers will be too big. They can be swapped as well or possibly altered to fit.
