Reel foot paint fading

Featured Replies

I got a new glass rod and the way my reel sits on it, it seems to scrape the paint away more than my Daiwa rods.  I may be overdoing this, but I just like to protect my stuff.  What can I do to prevent this?

Old surf fishermans trick, cover the foot with clear shipping tape. They did it to protect chromed reel feet on ambassadeur frames. The aluminum screw rings on the new abu rods are good for scratching reel feet.

Electrical tape would work.  Thats something i noticed on a few different rods when I first started  but I was over tightening I think

A layer or two of teflon thread tape will cover them too and leave a sticky residue.

A word I think is missing.
