I'm wanting to throw the strike king 1.5, 2.5 and the XCS 200 square bills. Which length and action should I buy.

'7"4 medium. I'll be picking up that rod model tomorrow to throw DT fat 3's all the way to DT 16's. Hope this helps.

If you were gonna use the rod exclusively for throwing square bills, I would go with the 7 foot medium. I have this rod for throwing the RC 2.5's and the KVD's as well. I also have the 7'10 for throwing the big deep divers.

However, if I was gonna use it for more than square bills, then I would go with the 7'4 as well for the added length.

Either way, you'll love the rod.

I have the 7' 2" and it seems to handle the KVD 2.5 crankbaits very well, and you can throw any crank or lipless bait you want on it. Great rod!
