How long should the fluro leader be. Keep in mind rod is 7 feet long.

on my 7'6 pitichin stick, I use about 8 feet of flouro leader

No leader most of the time, straight 55lb braid. When I do use a leader, it's usually 3' or so, and that's on a 7'6", or 7'11" rod..

This is my first year using a fluoro. leader with braid. I have yet to fish it, but from my limited expieriance practicing  pitching and casting with it, I (maybe not you) don't want my leader so long that the knot is on the reel when pitching or casting. I think 4'-5' of leader is plenty long enough.

x2 I usually try to do the same thing, or at least keep it somewhere around there.

3 to 6 feet leader length is plenty .....

I usually run about 8'. Keeps from having to retie as often as I usually trim a bit of line with lure changes.

I was always told that a good rule of thumb is your leader is usually the length of the rod.  That's is what I go by.  So usually 7'-8'
