A parish boy here looking for some advice on what end of the lake I should fish and some patterns to try. I plan on making the trip in late sept early oct. I have a decent boat so I can get around pretty decent. Geaux Tigers

I'm partial to the Southern end, something about being a Cajun  :)

Start looking for bass on main lake points with Rat-L-Traps, Rogues, or Spinner Baits; Texas Rigs & Carolina Rigs in deeper water. Let me know where you'll be staying!

I fished it last weekend, and we did alright.

We mostly caught on white trick worms, but we threw a lot of other baits.

We only fished pocks, and went under bridges and fished all the grass beds, and the "rivers" made out of the grass/weeds/lilies. Our biggest was 5.2lbs.

There really wasn't just one part of the lake that we fished, we just launched in different places, and when the wind wasn't too bad, we usually caught a good bit.

Good luck!

Those are great locations but in late Sept to early Oct I'll be hunting main lake points on major creek mouths.

In the fall with cooling water temps act like pre-spawn  :)

Big Bass, Buckeye Landing, Kite's Landing, Pirates Cove, Shadow's Landing, & Turtle Beach are all popular

Catt, one is the mouth of Carrice creek and one is Bugg Island. Long Mike called me last night to ask if I was crazy. I let him know these were general locations and I was just trying to get him in an area to start with. I have very consice waypoints, but I am not going to feed them to him on a silver platter. Just wanted to get him in an area and let him do the fine tuning. This is an area that I think he will be able to work with and if a norther blows in it won't blow him out. A strong southeast wind is another matter though.

I know that but are Long Mike and Marsh Master paying attention?

You gave them general locations while I fine tuned it for him with the mention of main lake points & the mouths of major creeks. If y'all can read between the lines I think fishfordollars & I just put y'all on some fish.

Shoot I'll give y'all plenty of waypoints  :)

You guys may need to rent some scuba gear to hook them up!

Hey catt, while I was down there I heard some good things about the "Indian Lumps"(might be Indian Humps, but I'm pretty sure it was Lumps). I really dont know where they are, and I didn't fish them, but I hear its a great spot to wear out the bass. Have you heard anything about it?

I know Long Mike was. He had his map out when he called me. Honestly I hope they go and catch a ton of fish. I love it when guys rip them with my information.

It is Indian Mounds. Try this waypoint:

               N 31 20.010

               W 93 40.201

I suggest we all get the same map so we can look at it together to get the same picture; Hook-N-Line is the one I have in front of me.

To Cat and Fishfordollars:  In my own defense, I have fished T-Bend all of one times.  Secondly, when I compared Jack's waypoints to the MapCreate Fishing Hot Spots topo, ABSOLUTELY ZERO structure was shown.  No humps, roads, streams, etc.  NOTHING!  You guys know this lake like the back of your hand.  I do not.  Without your very valuable input I would NEVER consider fishing in those areas, because on the map, there ain't nothin there.  Feel smug if you want to, but stop throwing rocks at me.  It ain't my fault.

Would nerf balls help your feelings? There are tons of places on all lakes that have great areas that maps do not show. It is the old tried and true measures that will show you the spots. You have to get out and fish them. Grass was not an issue on any of the East Texas lakes 20 years ago. The grass makes all the difference.

Jack, point well taken.  Back in the 60's, finding good grass was very important to me, but I hadn't yet started fishing.

Take a chill pill Mike & then get you a Hook-N-Line map so I can start an on-line Toledo Bend class. So y'all get your pin & paper out or learn how to copy-n-paste into Micro Soft Word cause class is on.
