i have tried cutting shapes into senkos(haven't tried them yet) but that vid looks awesome, i had the right idea, but i was wrong in application

It might work sometimes but i would suggest instead of modifying the senko like the video to buy some giggy sticks. They have a similar tail ;)

I only use swim senkos and I do not see a reason to cut them up, they work great as is.  Although I thought the idea was definately creative.

in a Bassin' magazine a while back, there was a tip in the back (reader submitted tip section) that had this exact thing in it, they cut 4 tentacles in the back of a shakey head worm. same principle, different bait.

Did somethin similar to this but with a culprit worm. I cut tentacles behind the hook, but not on the tail. It is hard to do, but it gives it extra action.
