Anyone been up to Mozingo yet? Probably going to head up on Sunday.

So I decided to go with pleasanton east instead of mound city. A little bit closer and it doesn't look like I'll have to deal with a ton of gravel. I know clayton has fished there with success. If anyone else has fished this with success and would like to chime in on some pointers, that'd be great. I have a feeling they'll all still be pretty shallow. It'll be interesting trying to throw together a pattern, but I imagine I'll be pretty shallow most of the time.

They should be eating a spinnerbait, squarebill, or beaver bait out there by now. The island in the middle and the north bank to the west of the west boatramp are my best big fish areas. A Big Texan Havoc Pit Boss will usually catch some fish out there when all else fails.

Caught about 20 bass yesterday. Had three or four come unbuttoned and missed a couple of bites. Most of my fish came on a black/blue jig, but had some takers on squarebills, deep diving cranks, and a pit boss. I thought the biggest fish of the day was this guy.

As you can see, I was fooled. That rock sure did fight like a seven pounder

Anyhow, here is the actual biggest fish of the day. Once again, didn't feel like taking out the scale, which must mean the fish was under four because I rarely weigh fish smaller than four pounds it seems.

Mostly dinks yesterday, but that could've been because of the cold front. Or, it could've been because it was my first time at pleasanton. Whatever the case, it was still fun.

Took a friend out to Wabunsee who had never been there before to try for some of the big fish that we caught last week. Did catch as many solid fish as last week but did get 4 that were keeper sized with this one being the biggest.

Didn't get a weight on her but probably in the 4.5lb range. I couldn't weigh her because I broke my scale trying to weigh this guy. Using a 7' 1" Rage M/H with a 200E7 and 14lb Vicious Elite fluoro and one my homemade jigs in a 3/8oz size in Big "O" craw color. Didn't get her off the bottome of the boat before the scale chain broke but I've caught enough of them to feel comfortable calling her 40lbs.

She wrecked my jig! It looks tiny in that huge mouth!

Caught a pretty decent smallie on one of my jigs in watermelon color.

It was a pretty steady day with the fish catching but just lots of small ones. I ended up with 45 bass and several other bonus fish. 2012 bass count=788

Yeah, right about 2 hours. It's not a hard drive or anything, there just isn't a real straight shot to the lake so it takes a little longer.

Right now it's between mound city, pleasanton, critzer, perry, leavenworth state lake, or maybe even La Cygne. who knows. hahaha

fished gardener lake this evening with a friend and we caught close to 20 fish on nothing but topwater and we caught a couple on wacky rigged senkos around the docks.

Cedar Lake is very shallow and dirty. Fishing is tough but the ones you get will be nice ones, mostly 16"+ up to 7lbs. I mostly catch them on squarebills and beaverbaits in dark colors fished very slowly. Don't go more than about halfway down the lake from the ramp, you will get stuck in the mud even in the middle of the lake.
