TW shipping costs are quite reasonable actually.

Definitely look into it more. Send them an email, they're very quick to respond.

TW has free shipping on orders over $50

(extra charges apply on 1 piece rods).

Our problem is being in Canada. Taxes and duties is what always killed me. That is until my sister moved to NY. Now I do most of my purchasing online and just have it all delivered to her place. Every 3 or 4 months I go visit and it's like Chrismas everytime.

Good luck

Actually Mike__D, I don't think the free shipping on orders over $50 applies to us up here. At least, it hasn't for me.  ;D

My orders (reels) had $15 shipping fees. You're right though, you have to be aware of the taxes/duties.

i order from TW quite a bit ad i have never had a problem with them. Their duty is not as bad as other sites. The reason is they use the postal service and not ups. UPS charged you minimum 30$ brokerage fees plus taxes plus duty. Its a real scam. The only downfall with the postal service is that they cant track your package if it gets lost. BPS on the other hand NAILS you with all kinds of fees coming over the border. I have recently gotten a p.o box for my company in champlain, NY and i go or i send one of my employees down there when i receive orders for my company. I usually fix my orders so that they come i at the same time as my work orders. Then it costs nothing to bring it in. The difference in price far outweighs the problems even if you have to pay duty.

I was wondering about that duty stuff, it is such a big question mark haha.

I am hoping the Bass Pro up here starts carrying the screamin' eagles....and I will be all over them at the fishing show, hopefully someone will be bringing them for me!

Your probaly right, shipping to canada might not be free. I have never actually had anything from TW delivered right to me in montreal. I learnt my lesson with bass pro and cabelas, After I saw my CC statement I said no more shipping accross the boarder. All my TW orders go straight to NY.

But midnighthrasher's idea works well to. The only thing about having a PO box in the US is that if you only go down for the day you have to declare and pay taxes on whatever you bring back accrosss the boarder.
