Gander Mountain

Featured Replies

Broke a 6'6 MH Gander Mountain Spinning Rod last weekend (yeah Im cheap I know).....Returned it today, they took it back, however the "associate" I spoke with indicated to me that this is an extremely common issue with the Gander Mountain brand rods......Not exactly shocking for $17.99 however, just figured I'd put it out there

uhm....my experiance is exactly the opposite. its wasnt 17$ , i believe it was somewere around 50 or 60 but i love it

Well that could be the difference right thre....17 often buys alot less than 50 or 60........

But if you only spend 17 bucks on a rod you arnt as disapointed if you break it i it was 50 bucks, right?

Well of course, I just posted this in case anyone else out there runs into the same ting I did with those rods

Although I am not much of a fan of GM, I have heard from reliable sources that when their stuff takes a crap on you they are pretty decent on replacing it.

breaking a 17$ rod is better then a 50 or 60. I've heard gm is good about their policies

I just broke a $99 St. Croix 3 weeks ago on a dang boat cleat.  Sickening I tell ya, sickening...

I work at Gander, the guide series rods are actually a pretty good buy and as long as you've got a receipt you can almost always return it and get a new one.

By the way Turn4, you can pay $20 shipping to St. Criox and get that replaced.

Seriously?  Even though it was my fault?  What do I need to do, go to their website for more info?

ActionJack - thanks so much.  I got on their website and got what I needed.  I had no idea.  I threw the rod in a corner and was just going to salvage the guides.  Thanks again.

BTW - every bass boat should have collapsable cleats on it.  It should be mandatory  ;)

I just snapped another one today on a jig hookset ;) looks like it'll be goin back.... caught the fish though
