  1. I just snapped another one today on a jig hookset looks like it'll be goin back.... caught the fish though
  2. I was there a week ago, it was pretty slow. Usually a good crankbait bite post spawn, about when you'll be there. I've got a tournament there this weekend, I'll let you know it is....
  3. I work at Gander, the guide series rods are actually a pretty good buy and as long as you've got a receipt you can almost always return it and get a new one. By the way Turn4, you can pay $20 shipping to St. Criox and get that replaced.
  4. Any pics of these homemade poles?
  5. I've been checking them out too, it almost seems like a cross between ranger triton champion and skeeter lol. And the simple fact you can get 20's on the trailer as a factory option... BLING BLING haha. Joking aside I agree with the whole they aren't very local. The nearest dealer to me in in Tennesee, and I live near terre haute IN
  6. I've rode in Z's and I own a Tr-21. I like them both... What I've noticed is that the Ranger is more like a cadillac. its heavier and easier to drive but is slower. There is more deck space in a Ranger compared to a triton because the Ranger are so much wider. I guess it comes down to if you want more performance or luxury. The ranger rides better, but not much. I'm not really sure on which floats shallower but I know i've had my triton in some pretty skinny water. Also, you have to look at value after a few years, the ranger will probably hold its value a little more but its definitely higher priced new.
  7. Very nicely put Way2slow, that completely answers my question. I guess in a normal mind you'd just think that the higher octane would burn cleaner and more efficient, but I see what you're saying now. Thanks A Lot!
  8. K thanks, Yeah, if you've ever fished the Ohio River you'd know that sometimes you've gotta make one hell of a run to get some fish, but if it pays off that $200 in gas will win me $6000.
  9. What kind of fuel does everyone run? I've got a 2000 225 Opti-Max. Do you run Regular, Plus or Premium?? I know my outboard is rated for 87(regular) octane, but I usually run plus or premium to be sure it runs clean. With gas prices going up I'm thinking of running regular, will this effect anything? Thanks
  10. If its anything like the tournaments I fish there, I would say just a limit is a lot to ask. Like fishhawk said very very shallow, or find fish on the main river deep. If you can find a rockpile, there is fish there
  11. I was wondering if there are any precautions or things I should do to ensure no damage is done to my outboard on long runs? Pretty long runs like 50 or 60 miles one way... Should I have the outboard set lower to get more water? I have a 21' Triton with a 225 Opti-Max, both are 2000's

  13. Ok thanks, I just know I have throttle left and I cant get wide open without it chine walking. ill check out that site and just keep driving it. and yes its GPS speed.
  14. Hello, I was wondering if there is any rule of thumb or anything to setting the height on a jack plate. I've got a 21' triton with a 225 optimax and a 6" manual jack plate. The problem is that when I get up to faster speeds (around 65) its starts getting real squirly. I'm almost positive that is what it is because I've tried it out at a couple different heights and some are worse than others. I've got it trimmed at the right height and everything. like I said i can only get about 65-67, and I should get about 80 or so. Thanks
