Sounds great. Wish I could be there, I have a Trail Tourney a hour down the road at Webster. Catch em up guys.

I'll almost definitely be there - I'll know for sure in a week or two.  Just thinking of catching smallies makes me antsy  ;D

What gate will you be at? Sounds like a good time ;)

i'll be putting in at gate 43, but if anyone is putting in at 31 it's easy enough to meet up out on the water. gate 43 is probably the closest for you RI and CT guys, as well.

if anyone is bringing their own boat and has an open seat, post up and let us know. also, if anyone's planning on renting post up saying so, that way we can pair off and split rental/launch costs.

Going to try, How has it been at the quabbin?

I'll definately be there.

Quabbin was starting to heat up until the cold front this weekend. A buddy of mine caught about 4 LM around 4lbs fishing from the dam area at gate 31. I went yesterday and got the big skunk.

Hey

I'm new to the Forum and from Cape Cod but was wondering if it's cool if I meet up there??? I would like info on where/how I rent a boat and if I can bring a trolling motor as I heard they only come w/ gas outboards. I would be bringing a buddy with me also. Let me know because I will definately be there if it's cool.

I'm still planning on going up - my brother is checking to see if he has to work, and if he does I'll just rent a boat.

How many people are in for sure? Mike - you wanna do an informal list or something?

ANYONE ELSE WANT TO MEET UP FOR THIS?

i'm not sure who is definitely planning on coming, tony. so far it looks like it'll be you craig and i and possibly your brother. i'm trying to get a couple buddies to come down that day, too. wasn't really trying to do a "formal" get together but it'd still be cool for a bunch of people to show up. ANYONE/EVERYONE IS WELCOME.

bassachusetts, you can rent boats at one of 3 gates, either 8, 31 or 43. i'll be renting and going out of gate 43 and yes, you can bring a trolling motor. i suggest bringing at least one decent anchor, as well, as the quabbin can get pretty windy and even a trolling motor won't help you then.

here's a link to a map of the quabbin, and also to the quabbin fishing rules website. hopefully any questions anyone has can be answered here...

Forcast for Saturday is 70 and partly cloudy. Supposed to be in the upper 60s low 70s all week. Should be some pretty decent fishing this weekend.

Anybody else wanna join us at the Quabbin? You'd be hard pressed to find any place in New England that's more beautiful the the Q in the spring.

thanks kent! it's warmed up this week after being cold and rainy all last week so i'm hoping the smallies will have moved up shallow by saturday.

no one else wants to come out for some smallie slayin? looks like cigarlover, tokyo tony, myself and two of my friends are definitely gonna be hitting the water saturday. waiting to hear back on a few other guys, but either way it'll be a good day out on the Q.

Yeah, some buddies and I are going to be there.  For those of you that have rented boats before, realistically what time do you need to get there so that the boats arent all rented out?

boat launch areas at the quabbin open at 6am. i am planning on being at gate 43 fairly early, not quite sure what time exactly but i'll post up to let people know. i'd suggest getting there earlier rather than later. better to be safe than sorry.

I'll be there! Sharing a rental boat with cigarlover, we've figured out the details, but we just need to know what time to be there. Holy crap, I can't freakin' wait  8-)

i still have to get details figured out with my buddy joe and his brother but i'll let you guys know what time i'm going to be there by tonight. probably early, 7 or so i'd say. i'll try to know for sure tonight.

cool sounds good, look for a bunch of Massholes wearing Red Sox gear, realtree camo and screaming when they catch even the smallest fish...that will be us
