Where to find Bass?

Featured Replies

How you all doing? I am new to MD, I live in Annapolis and I am not sure where to bass fish around here. I moved from Florida and I was a little spoiled there. Nothing but bass. Trying to get in a few trips before the summer is up or trying to find a fishing hole close to home. Thanks all.

I imagine it could be tough moving to a new area. You could Google Maryland bass fishing and see if that yields anything. Possibly taking to salesmen at tackle shops and sporting goods stores might help. Talk to the people at your nearest office of the DNR. Check out Google maps or other similar services. Drive around and look, after all, gas is only $4+.  ;)

Good luck.

You have a few options.  One of them is fishing local ponds.  Another is to go to a lake which you can rent a boat.  There are a few that aren't to far of a drive and the cost is reasonable.  There is Centennial Lake in Columbia, Loch Raven in Baltimore County and a couple of others that are probably listed on the dnr website.

They also have a list of hot spots on there.  Don't be alarmed if the fishing is much different up here than it was for you in FL.  The fish aren't as big and not as plenty.  There are some good fish to be caught though if you put in the time.

Good luck
