I'm wondering how long it takes 18" of ice to thaw at an ave of 40 degrees?

I've got the itch too.  And not that bad itch from college.  

My local lake doesn't open until March 1 though so I've got to hold out a bit longer.  March 1 is a Sunday and I'll be there with bells on.

Our season does not open until April 11th up here.  I just hope the ice is off the lakes by then. :'(

Yeah I hear ya...you can only rearrange your tackle collection in so many ways...pretty soon I'll run out of ways...then I'll have to buy more tackle...to feed that vicious little monkey!   Winter NEEDS TO END, ice fishing just doesn't cut it for me.   :-/

Yeah, i have two tackle boxes, and ive switched everything around too many times, and had to many fantasies about catchin a lunker.

I can't wait much longer.  I have a tiny garden pond in my yard that just thawed and I've been practicing my pitching.  My neighbors think I'm insane.  Maybe I am...

Haha.  I thought I was the only one who re-arranged their tackle over and over.  I'm gettin it bad too.  This dang ice needs to melt!

Most of the ice has thawed here in SW PA, but you still need a license to fish here...need to get that...  Also need to restring the reels, have not done that in 2 years...its time.  Gonna put on some heavy line on one reel, for when I am targeting the biggies, and keep a few with smaller line for the "other than Bass" types...

The running water is thawed completely, and the standing water(lake) is thawing.  You can see a lot of dark spots, meaning the ice is getting thinner.  There are some wholes melted in it already, esp. by the dam.

18"of ice, try 32" up my way. But every year mother nature seem to have a way with melting it all by the last week-end in April and I'm on the water again. BUT THIS WAITING IS KILLING ME!!!!!

Toooooooo long! The problem is the overnite temps. It'll get nice and warm during the day but then get cold again over night and it seems like it takes forever for that much ice to melt.

ICE IS STILL HERE!!!!!!!!! Ive already rearranged my tackle box twice today i think ill go do it again. ps whats you guys' record for most arranging in a day this winter i believe mine is 6 :-[

I find myself flipping through the new Cabela's and BPS catalogs daily now.,  Only have gone through my tackle once, but will be restringing soon as well.  Sick of winter, especially with all the shoveling I'll have to do tomorrow.  At least another 3 or 4 weeks before I can get out there.
