Fishing in the rain

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone had any tips on fishing in the rain in terms of lures. I've heard darker colors produce more and would top water baits be useless because of the noise they are already hearing or what? Thanks.

I just read through the articles on the forum, and they said to pick a bait that will attract a bass with the most senses, ie sight, smell, vibration. The rain will cause run off which will muddy up the water.

Caught five today on Senkos and Jigs. Dark colors work well in darker water. Fishing in the rain is always fun as it puts bass in the feeding mood.  :D

I don't know were you heard that top water does not work in the rain.

I throw top water in any weather but especially kill them in the rain.

Top water lures work, But I just hate when they hit it and you miss them.

I catch fish on any colors.  From my experience people seem to put too much emphasis on color.  They'll say "You have to use light colors here" and I throw out black, or black with flake, or any other dark colors and get just as many fish.  Or at this spot dark colors work best, and i'll still catch them on my watermellon or baby bass.
