Sayers Lake near State College PA

Featured Replies

Hello,

My wife and I are contemplating taking a trip to it on Wed this week, however neither of us have been to it before and it is 2+ hrs from my home in Newville.  I am asking if anyone has any info on this lake...worth the trip, waste of time, etc?

I am going over to another local lake I have never been, Pinchot.  I have heard good things about this lake and also Holman Lake up in Little Buffalo Park.  Is there a better ramp to put in at Pinchot?  Anything for baits that work  better than others (nothing specific I can understand that).

Thanks everyone,

Mike

Big waste of time. Certain times of year it may be worth the trip, but not right now.

I posted a ? about Pinchot sometime last week and got few responses.

Either no one is fishing there, or the lake is kicking out some fish and nobody knows nothing   :;).

I would go to Pinchot.  Hit me up sometime and I can drag my boat over there to meet you.

From what I have heard and read in reports, launch from the upper (away from the dam) launch.

Really Robby? It's a waste of time this time of year? I've faired ok at Sayers this time of year. It looks right now that I'll be making a trip there this coming weekend. Fishing with my cousin to help him become a little more familiar with the lake. There's a local club that has open team tournament and he wants to fish a couple of them. If you can hold off on your decision to fish there for a little while, I'll post a report sunday or monday.

Skipping out on the Meadowgrounds T again this weekend?   :;)

Someone's scared.... :'(

;D

Someone hasn't been keeping me updated on when they are!  ;)  Let me know when the one in September is! Please!  :)

I'm conducting a class on "Netting Your Partner's Fish" if you are interested.  The cost is two 30's of Miller Lite or a big bottle of the Captain.

Thanks for the offer but I'll pass on that! Just reading that "M" word beverage gives me one heck of a headache!  ;)

Sissy!

I was thinking about the Meadowgrounds tonight and realized that I havent't caught a fish in a tourney in like two years there.  However, I never miss a fish Wayne has hooked in to!

Well I got out to Pinchot at around 10am and caught one nice fat 13in one and had two more decent fish boil at a bluegill pattern 4in tru-tungsten swimbait.  Nice lake, water temp was crazy 85 on the surface.  I plan to fish this lake more soon, seems like it has potential.
