UNH, i was at Long pond in danville. We use to go camping on the saco river i never fished it but i saw people catching trout fly fishing. not sure of exactly where on the river.

Anyone else know of any good places to shore fish around Concord? I know Turee pond was a good place for me but after fishing it with the canoe today I don't think I can go shore fish there now lol.

have you tried horseshoe pond in concord? we shore fished it once and caught a few pickeral.

Had some good luck on Mill Pond for the 1st time this year. One huge pickerel that thankfully jumped off the spinner before landing him.

All in a 2 hour span

Added an extended deck to my boat this weekend (I'll put up pics of that later). I also built a camera mount for my Flip Camera.

Got out today for a couple of hours to test the deck and the camera out.

I made a little vid testing it out. Figures I got into the bite right after my camera died ;D

Water was 60, and the Smallies were up on beds. Drop shot seemed to be the key, I was fishing a finesse worm with only a 6 inch leader above the weight.

Ended up with 20 fish on the day in 4 hours. First time I've really been sucessful with a drop shot.

I'm digging that setup!!

Cool Kevin congrats.  All Largemouth in there though just for your info. There are some smallies in the Nashua river, but they are few and far between. Nashua fisherman has caught some in the river.

I never caught any SMB in Mill pond and I have been fishing there for 3 years, But there may be some in there. I'm thinking you may have been by the canel. Anyways congrats. 

Fishing on the edge- Some other places in the Concord area that I used to fish from shore were Hoit Marsh in Concord on Hoit Road, Turtle Town Pond, Under the Hannah Duston Bridge in Penacook where the Contoocook River and the Merrimack River meet (SMB mostly), and at the end of 2nd street in Concord behind Beaver Meadow Golf course on the Merrimack.

Went out today on the Piscatequog for 2 hours. I caught 3 dinks while my Dad picked up 3 nice bass. largest was 2lbs 8oz. the others were just around 2 lbs. all on senkos. Also all in really skinny water. I'm talking like 6 inches in the very backs of coves.

I also spent 10 minutes pitching to a large fish before realizing it was just a carp ;D

Fishing on the edge...you should also check out heads pond. It's near you in pembroke. you have to hike to it to get in but it's got good shore fishing off of a big rock and some other places

Went to Child's Bog for the first time tonight. Ended up with 4 bass, biggest going about 2.5 plus some picks and perch. I was a little overwhelmed fishing it. Everything looks so good and there are literally hundreds of stumps everywhere. I think what really tripped me up though was the lack of vegetation. Seems like even in the summer there's not much in the way of vegetation in there.

It was just a little hard for me to put the pieces together tonight...

Anyone know more about the place? I'd really appreciate some info if anyone has fished it.

I've been hitting the Wilton Resevoir for a few hours at a time over the last few days, and doing fairly well. Landed 10 in four hours spread out over three days. a couple good sized ones too. Three in the 2.5 lbs range, and a real nice one yesterday at 3 lbs 9 oz.

Does anyone else fish there regularly? I've seen a few other people around, but less than I'd expect.

I'm only shore fishing since I'm stopping by on my way to and from work, but I haven't been wishing for a boat yet. Some LMB are up on beds within a couple feet from shore, and others are cruising the shallows.

On a different note, I've learned very quickly to leave my bright yellow jacket in the car and take a green camo one when the bass are so shallow. I imagine I look like a giant "caution" sign to them when I'm wearing that

Oh man, that place is my nemesis.

I loved the look of it driving by, so I fished it during prespawn last year with my friend Matt on a cold and cloudy day in May. I caught a grand total of 3 bass, 1 pcikeral. My friend Matt caught about 8, 2 to 3 lb LMB's, all on a silver Joes Fly spinner. I was throwing basicly the same bait from the back fo the canoe with no results.

I went back a month later by myself and had basicly the same results. 3 fish on a lucky craft jerkbait. Could not really find the fish and felt overwhelmed by the lack of any cover in the pond besides the shallow stumps. I think the fish roam around a lot in there, and it can be tough to find them unless they are on or near the beds.

I've considered going back there at some point because it holds good fish. Do you know what the water temp was?

On another note, had a good two days of vacation hammering the smallies.Good times!!

Water temp was between 59.7 and 60.4. There's so much cover there, yet the pond's so barren at the same time. I saw 8 or 10 empty beds all in the same place and two bass doing their thing on top of a stump...? :-? That was a little odd, but I definitely saw correctly, trust me! I really want to get back there, but it seems to be a confusing place.

I just hope I can find some weeds in there at some point. That would clear things right up. I hope.

One thing I did like in there was the excellent perch population. Bass candy!

I think the old stream channel may play a key role in finding fish there......

Thanks! Ill have to check them out. I no longer really fish turtle town even in a boat just because the milfoil is the worst ive ever seen it there. But ill check out the rivers and the hannah dustin.

Nice 2hrs. on Turee pond last eve.Lots of fishing pressure the last few days particularly along the banks.A friend and I tried a different approach with a split shot rig along the outside weedlines resulting in 6 LMB and several pickerel.

I fish wilton resevior often. There are some decent fish in there. Fished once from a boat early in the season, but typically its always from the shore. I have caught a couple in the 4 lb range in there.

Yeah I fished it and have only caught a pumpkin seed everytime ive gone. It was recommended by Fish and Game for LMB but I have yet to see one get pulled from those waters. You only have two spots you can fish from as the bushes take over the edges of the pond.

Got out with wagn today and had a great time. Lots of smallies and bigger LMB's hanging around cover/docks. Good times and a beautiful day.

Hey everyone. I haven't been on in a while and it's great to see that people are tearing it up here in NH. I've been out a few times but the best by far was the other night. 9 decent LM and 3 pickerel in about an hour and a half on Gregg Lake and all on the same fat Ika.I definitely got my money's worth out of that one.

I never wear sunglasses and I was thinking of grabbing a pair of polarized sunglasses from walmart..

I'm interested in this as well, I will pick up a pair also if it is beneficial.

I bought some polarized aviator style glasses from walmart. They work awesome on calm water days because it just cuts all the glare and allows me to see much more than i could before like the weed beds, sticks, logs, etc. even fish can be seen much better. On choppy water days it still works pretty good. Sadly the lenses got damaged and i have to replace the pair but for $10 its a great deal. I recommend trying some. 90% of the sunglasses walmart sells are polarized.

I would recommend to anyone who fishes to wear polarized glasses.  It is a huge advantage to be able to look under the water and see structure, fish, bottom composition, etc;  particularly this time of year when the fish are on beds.

The difference between the cheap glasses and a more expensive pair is that the polarization is just a coating on the cheap ones, so it scratches easy and you'll need to buy a new pair quicker.  They still work real well, though.

As a side benefit, you would be amazed at how much better you will feel after being on the lake for extended periods of time, if you are wearing sunglasses.  The squinting tends to end up giving me a headache.
