STRATEGY QUESTIONS FOR NEXT WEEK

Featured Replies

Hello,

I hope this is the correct forum for this question.

I am going to Lake of the Ozarks next weekend.  The forecast calls for showers at the beginning of the week and clearing up toward the end of the week when I will be there.

I am guessing the rain will have the water fairly stained.

I have heard they have been up shallow but hard to catch.  The water has been in the low 40's and should warm up a few degrees as the temp is suppose to be in the 50's.

SO,

Do you think they will stay shallow?  How will the rain effect things?  Thanks for your thoughts.

Most bass are not shallow this early and that far north. When they are shallow, I think they are just "visiting". Work the breaklines offshore, especially ledges dropping from 6-8' into 15+ depths. Right now, Rat-L-Trap type lures, jerkbaits and jigs seem to be the ticket.
