Planning a trip to Sanford NC

Featured Replies

I am planning a trip to the Raliegh Durham Triangle Area during the week of March 17-24 2008. I am a novice, but fanatic, Bass angler. I am going to spend some quality time with my son and grandkids. I would love to get them on some good fish.

Does anyone have recommendations for a productive trip? I have been looking at Lake Jordan and Shearon Harris Reservoir. I have a 20' Skeeter with a 200HP. Do I need to worry about a HP limit on any of the lakes in that area?

Will the Bass be in post spawn by then? What baits do they see the most of and what would you reccommend to show them something different? What areas of what lake would be best to focus on?

I would appreciate any advice you could offer.

Harris will be your best bet. The bass are still holding middle way in the coves 6 - 10' deep.  I have been using the Rattle trap in gold w/black back. to locate them then I just slow down and fish the hole with a green pumpkin Sinko on 6 or 8lb test line. You should be catching a lot of 3 -5lb bass by the middle of March.
