Use google earth and find likes around your area. Go first without the boat and scope out a spot to launch the boat. Bring a pole to fish from shore for a few minutes. The next morning take the boat out and just go for it. You will have a whole lot more fun fishing from the boat.

Hey,

Congrats on gettin your boat. Very Cool 8-)

I don't know anything about fishing in your area but I do have some recommendations about boating. Wear some type of personal floatation device. You are not bullet proof and regardless of your body and the shape that you are in having a PFD could save your life should you fall in the water somehow. I recommend a self inflating life vest. They are light and are comfortable to wear.

Next, I would check on boating regulations in your area and see about boater safety classes and I would sign up for one.

After that, I would go out fishing and have a good time.

Be safe.

Tom

If you go onto Alligator Alley and travel east towards the first ramp those canals are loaded with bass, just cast towards the bank as you ease down the middle. Worms topwater etc..

Its a bit of a ride for you, but mile marker 41 has a ramp, and right now the bite is very good. Theres a ramp on east and west bound(called south and north I75 but its really not). Throw watermelon Trick Worms to the bank let them sink un weighted and hold on.

This would work all along the Alley.
