Seriously considering moving to Alabama, hopefully close to Guntersville, Whats the local tournament schedule like and any Bass clubs suggestions for a non-boater?

Seriously considering moving to Alabama, hopefully close to Guntersville

I can only imagine the possibilities if you move close to Guntersville.  You might have "company" three or four times a year.  

I dont know much about clubs and stuff, but I've been to guntersville twice this year. Guntersville is a monster! Lots of waters and grass, but it loaded with fish.

In one morning we found school of stripes and caught over 50 fish in 20 minutes between 4 of us in two boats.

As the day progress on the same very day we found 7 bass in less then 20 minutes.

Also hooked two 5+ fish 5 minutes apart.

Guntersville can be slow, but 15 minutes later there could be a feeding frenzy then you'll have to grind it out again.

I also must add the area like boaz, albertsville, guntersville, scottsboro, etc. Are really nice cozy small town you'll learn to like it.

Hope that was some help. I do know is there a lot of local tournaments every weekend so your bettr off working on weekend and fish on week days.

My cousin belongs to a club in Tuscaloosa (two hours away) and his club host tournaments on guntersville once or twice a year. So you'll see clubs from all over the area visiting guntersville.

If you decide to come this way give me a shout. I have some contacts in the Scottsboro and Guntersville area who can probably help out with housing etc.

The Coosa River is near my home which makes Lake Weiss and Logan Martin if you prefer to get your arm broken by some crazy spotted bass.

Alabama has alot of great lakes to fish.

And I really mean it.

You may do better being an Alabama fan and reading up on Alabama football.

If you wear purple and gold they will throw you into the lake.  ;D

That is not a major problem. The answer is obvious. Roll Tide!

There are many different possibilities for moving near lakes in alabama. Guntersville is one.

The coosa chain is great. (where i live)

Eufaula is another.

And the Tennessee river has some great fishing for both largemouth and smallmouth.

Coosa River is great because you can run so many different patterns on the lakes, from skipping jigs under docks at Logan Martin for HUGE spots to swimmin jigs through grass at jordan.
