Live well additives???

Featured Replies

What is everyones favorite livewell additive?  Rejuivinade or???  I am looking for a good brand and have never used any before.

Thanks

Pont

Rejuvinade is good as is Please Release Me.  The most important thing though is to make sure your livewell is in good working order.

Please Release me worked good for me so I never bothered to try the rejuvenade so I can't speak for it.

I've been using Rejuvenade for about 6 months now and the only thing I have to say about it is it makes getting your fish out for weigh in a little more troublesome. It's some kind of fish amphetamine or something  ;D

That is because it is formulated to irritate and stress the fish, thus making them more "lively" (read: freaked). Garlic is HIGHLY irritating to a fishes gills.

Please Release me is formulated to  SEDATE, CALM, and MEDICATE! The only ethical livewell additive, IMO. I use it when trophy hunting to reduce the stress on the fish, stop bleeding, and keep the fish from freaking out.

If you are going to use Rejuvenade, you might as well just pour acid in your wells.

BTW, not affiliated in anyway, but after looking into both products, I find Rejuvenade APPALLING!

Rejuvinate is deadly to fish and the environment.  Period.  Don't use it.  Just look at how many 300+ fish kills happened last year after FLW tournaments where all the contestants used Rejuvinade.

Please Release Me and Catch & Release are much, much better for your fish.  Dump out that crud in the green bottle and get yourself some Please Release Me and Catch & Release.

Please remember that while oxygen is vital, it is not the only requirement to keep fish alive and healthy. Stop using the oxygenator.  An aerator combined with Please Release Me is much, much better.

That is what makes this forum great.  I would have never known rejuvenade was that harmful.  Why haven't tournament organizations banned it?  Or have they?  I just chucked my bottle and will use Please Release Me exclusively.

Thank you Glenn and everyone else.  I was just about to buy rejuvinade and then I thought I should post to see what everyones opinions are.  Glad I did because I probably would have had some dead fish!

Thanks again

Pont.

Even in the hot summer days, I rarely ever turn in a dead fish.  Keeping the live wells running works fine.

If you gut hook a fish which causes the fish to bleed, rub some of the Please Release Me or Catch N Release right on the cut. It works as a coagulant and will stop the bleeding in most cases.

And Gobble Dog, I agree, a good livewell will do the trick most times but the Sure Life additives really calm the fish down and cut down on their stress levels. You can look down in your livewell and it doesn't even phase the fish....they're just in there hanging out comfortably, not beating themselves to death against the livewell walls trying to get out. The stuff makes a difference.

I will trade anyone a bottle of Catch N Release or Please Release Me if you will send me a bottle of Rejuvenade in return. I will be dumping out the Rejuvenade when I get it.

PM me if interested.
