you have the most beautiful pictures and waters!

i selected t-rigged worm, but in reality i would be fishing a t-rig and a wacky rig. but i'd be more likely to fish a t-rig to avoid hang-ups.

whatever im fishing, i would spend forever, dropping it into each and every little hole! what a nice piece of cover to fish!

I like to throw a big squarebilled balsa crankbait and would start with that.

But I think a weightless soft plastic would do best.

Very nice picture Dean. I chose a T-rigged worm, but it's actually a toss up between that and a jig & trailer.

Actually, the more I look at the pic the more I think I would choose a jig & trailer. ;D

worm and jig too

I'd start around the outside first with maybe a senko. Thats my approach. Some people like to go straight to the meat.I always fish the edges first.

Jig all day for me. 8-)

Yeah like a pumpkin or watermelon.

hey dean,

This is a really cool idea. You should keep these kinds of posts going.

First, an original rapala minnow or a baby 1- right over the top.  no takers on that, i'll toss a creature bait (probably a baby brush hog) all over that thing.  if that didn't work, a small curl tail worm, either weightless or with a 1/16 pegged weight, pitched into each pocket.

compact creature bait

That tree is beautiful--I wish they all grew like that

Some poeple fish the outside first

thats good for #s but in my opinion, if you want the biggest, go to the heart---find the spot in the center where 3 main branches meet and give it a pitch quietly and jig it up and down gently with lots of smelly jelly--thats what lubes your lure to slip past branches

Keep it in that spot for a couple minutes

Thats what I would do because I've snorkeled alot of trees and the big ones in the middle of the day are in the center so be quiet and patient

Don't we all wish every tree grew like that?  ;D Personally, I'd fish a wacky worm in every hole possible. No matter what technique you would approach it with, making a silent entry is crucial in not spooking the bass.

That's jig city for me.  I'd pitch a jig into every nook and cranny. Even bring the boat up real close and vertical drop my jig down some of those inner holes.
