Green Top is the Best!

I have been having problems with my Lowrance LMS 332 (no WASS connection) so I called Lowrance and held for 18 minutes (new world record) only to be told by the guy on the other end that I needed a new WASS antenna for my boat and he could sell me one.

So I took the boat and unit to Green Top on Thursday and they were fantastic.

First, they showed me how to update the unit; told me that the antenna was probably fine; showed me the new Lowrance HD units which blew me away; and told me about their trip to the 2009 ICAST event.

After uploading the new software, the unit seems to be working fine.

I plan to hit the Mattaponi at least five times in August so I will know very fast if the unit is working properly.

Only down side is the possibility that Lowrance does want to work on my unit due to its age, and it is only five years old.

Oh well, I guess the Bait Monkey and I will be visiting Green Top in the near future to check out the new HD units when they arrive.  ;)

Glad you got it fixed.  Green Top is, indeed, the best.

I've never been but am afraid my first time will be an expensive, bait-monkey influenced day of spending....

jesus christo, Andrew. Why the heck haven't you been down there yet? We should make a trip out of it sometime. I can't find a Tru Tungsten frog anywhere and I'll be damned if I am going to pay $6 for BPS to ship it to me.

i just bought one at BPS in maryland...haven't tried it out yet though.

I'm scared! Rob keeps saying we should go down there but man...I need to stop spending. As easy as it was for me to break down and buy my daiwa reels, I'm afraid of the bait monkey + greentop.

My other fear = bait monkey + japanese lures....

If you are talking about the Tru Tungsten Mad Maxx frog the bass pro in ashland had it two weeks ago.  My buddy picked me up one is sweet revenge.  The rattles in this thing are awesome.  I love it.

Andrew, just take a set amount of cash and leave your credit cards at home. It really does have some cool stuff (including Zillion rods...)

Also, you should see the Hooker Bait and Tackle store down in Williamsburg. Talk about having a lot of japanese lures. They have more japanese lures in one place than I've ever seen.

Don't forget Pro Tech in Toano, too. They have some great Japanese baits.

On Depot Street.

Burley, you are right. I always have misspelled WAAS. I guess it is a mental thing.
