Reston Va, Lake Audobon

Featured Replies

Went here last night. Caught a small LMB on a senko. (first time using one)  Anyone else had any luck on this lake?

never fished it because its private.

Those Reston neighborhood lakes are not the type of "private" lake that I would still try to fish.

It's not private. If you live in Reston it's free game.

Reston residents only. aka private...

and even further, I know some of those other lakes up there are Reston Association members only.

ok terrific.

Anyways, Anyone else caught anything here?

I haven't heard of anyone fishing it. There are too many other lakes/ponds in the area that are less sketchy.

What are the other ponds in the area that are less sketchy?

I know the usual's.... Burke, Beavercreek, Royal, Braddock, Fairfax, and Occoquan.

I'm just wonderin what else is out there.....

Thanks  :D

Braddock is also private.

There are tons of others. Check out Google Maps. There are small lakes that are part of Fairfax county parks department as well as small neighborhood and corporate ponds that might technically be private but aren't as sketchy

I went to Audobon and Lake Anne last week, but didn't catch anything at either lake.

I've been consistently pulling 10"-13" fish from Lake Thoreau (opposite Audobon on S. Lakes Dr.) I caught 3 on a midday trip last week and 2 at sundown yesterday on senkos.

I'm gonna checkout Lake Newport later this week.

dang, now I wish I had one of those lakeside condos.

Hi Everyone,

I fish lake anne at least three times a week. It has been miserable this summer. It seems that the spring grass beds have died away. Bass are really deep and the crappie have all but disappeared.

Early summer we were pulling 3 pounders out between 7 and 8pm. Largest caught was 4 pounds on a yamamoto grub.

We have missed some large fish. we have hooked some lunkers on top water late evening. Fishing really requires a boat. I caugt an 1 /12 pound crappie last night on a Yum Grub. We hope to post pictures soon.

I hope the fishing piucks up soon. We have been avering only one fish per trip lately.

The main guy I fish with swears by this lake. And usually he's right when he says a place is holding big fish. I'm gonna go check it out sooner or later, been way too busy fishing grass beds on the potomac in my boat lately to even think of goin anywhere else.

Just a few more notes. Went fishin last night. Right off the bank we saw at least 20 bass all over 20 inches. They look to be going after small sunfish and crappie. I caught one on top water with a jitterbug. Tried just about everything else but none of them were interested... frustrating!

here is a few pics of some catches.
