where to go?

Featured Replies

My friend and I are going to take a trip somewhere in the southeast From March 26-March30.

My question is:

On these dates if you could choose 1 lake in Georgia, Alabama, S. Carolina or maybe far northern Florida where would you go?Lake Eufaula and Murray are 2 lakes we are considering, but we are completely open minded as neither of us have been bass fishing in the deep south before. We live in East Kentucky and our longer trips are traditionally to Tennessee or Kentucky Lake/Barkley.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I have to 2nd the St johns or rodman, going to rodman has  a better likely hood of you catching fish. just watch for logs.

thanks alot guys.

I guess I need to do some quick study on Rodman. I just have 1 concern. 1. it is a projected 14hr./850 mile drive.

So Guntersville>Eufaula???

Whats the word on Lake Seminole??

What about the panhandle/far north florida lakes like Jackson??

Thanks again for the info

Do you like fishing hydrilla? If so, it's an amazing reservoir. If you aren't familiar with it, it can be intimidating. The pure wildlife experience though is second to none.

For big lakes, Lake Guntersville was the hot lake in the South last year. I wouldn't even consider anywhere else as far as big lakes in the southeast at that time of year. Guntersville is the place right now.

If you have a boat that is all electric lake Varner just outside Atlanta is the place to be. That week is usually the peak of the shallow prespawn bite and a good week for the first big bass to move on the beds.
