What's not frozen in NoVA?

Featured Replies

Trying to get out and check out the lakes and ponds in the area. What's not frozen?

I've been trying to find that out also

got views but no responses! I guess i'll drive around this weekend to see how conditions are.

the Rapp was moving pretty swiftly at my normal spots this weekend. Though, i don't know if my spots are actually deep enough for the smallies to hang out in.

Aside from parts of the river, the only unfrozen bodies I have seen are some of the ponds around Fairfax and Ashburn area with fountains that move the water around. And they are still partially frozen. And the walking access still sucks.

Nothing is unfrozen.  Go to sleep, wake up in march!!

Now I know you dont mean that at all!

I'm going to Fla. next week, so I don't care!!  The anticipation of spring is killing me.  My seasonal affective disorder is kickin' in high gear, I'm not in the best of moods. >:(

Thanks mantis.

That river has to be brown though right? Any foresight Mantis?

thanks for all the input.

Right now it is rather staind, 1ft visibility.

  It can get quite clear.

I've seen visibility up to 8ft.

Went down to occoquan reigonal park to look. Ramp is not plowed cause the plow truck broke down. It is unfrozen tho and have gotten reports some perch are being caught and some nice crappie around the docks. Water is not terribly stained.

Checked out the Occ today, fished for a little bit, found a brush pile and pulled 5 bass and  2 crappie off it in 20 or so ft of water, water is stained but not terrible
