Flipping Weights

Featured Replies

I want to get bullet weights to flip plastics with.  To flip weeds with tubes and worms, what is a good weight to use?  Thanks

I would say that it varies so much from one situation to the next, however I would say that a 1/4 oz weight is probably my average.  I do use 1/16 oz all the way to 1/2 oz depending on the "weeds" (broad term) and depending on the tackle that I am using.

If your looking for one weight to use in most situations I would say a 3/16 oz-1/4 oz.

Hope this helps.

I did well flipping with a 3/8 oz weight.  I tried using 1/4oz and didn't like it as much. I felt that the weight wasn't falling fast enough. I was using the tru tungsten weights.

I flip pretty beefy baits  I usually use a 1/2 oz tru tungsten. it lets u go from flippin to pitchin without taking your hands off the rod.

Go with tungsten and let the fish tell you how fast they want it to fall.

For heavy cover I like to use a 3/8oz bullet weight.  I like the trutungsten flipping weights but at $2.50 a piece there pretty expensive to be tossing into a place were it could easly be lost.

I would use 1/4 to 1/2 ounce. Heavier weights might be needed to punch through heavier weed growth.

I usually use a 1/2 oz tru tungsten.

Yep.
