innsbrook

Featured Replies

I have heard alot of people on this forum talking about ponds at innsbrook?  well where exactly are these ponds because i live in chesterfield and would like to try them also from the shore.

Innsbrook is at Broad st and Cox road, (from Broad Street), If you go straight down cox you will come to a light and to your left is the first lake, go through that light about 1/4 mile you will see the 2nd lake on the left, then go to nuckols road, cross nuckols staying on cox and you will see another lake on the left

are these lakes any good?

Me personally I have had the most luck on the 2nd lake, the first lake I dont think is as good, the 3rd lake I have only fished twice and only caught a couple of fish.

ok, ill have to go cast some crankbaits or shakeyheads and see how they work out there one day.  thanks for the help.

the best lake in innsbrook is the one where nuckols and cox meet it is called lake rooty that one and the small one across the street from that one are the best in innsbrook, if you ever plan on fishing those hit me up and i will show you the good spots there.

Carrington and CM,

Let me know when you all are going to Lake Rooty.

I fished it one time in bad weather, go wet and did not catch anything.

Thanks.  :)

ok, maybe ill try it next sunday.  also are the shores for these lakes pretty clear? i am starting to get tired of hitting my rod tips on trees that crowd lake sures lol.

I work across the street from Lake Rooty. I fish there just about every day on my lunch break, when weather permits. I went on tuesday and caught a 17 inch 2.1 lb. Nice healthy fish. He put a nice little fight, ran twice.  That was the first of the year. The only problem at this lake is all of the algae. Best time to fish here is early in the season before all the vegatation grows back. You cant really use crank baits  here because of all of the alage. I have my best luck on Senkos fished weightless, or top waters. I'm really familar with this lake. Can can anyone recomend any good spots. I have my best luck on the far side of the lake directly accross from that little cove, or in the cove itself.

I usually fish over there on my lunch break as well.  Haven't had much luck over there in the last few weeks though.

The first pond on right after you make the turn off nuckols..I caught me a 30 lb cat outta there last year....on a super fluke and tons of decent bass..nothing over 2 lbs though. the ones in the back( across nuckols) have been dreged recently and most of the fish are still small... I live 3 mins from it and caught most of mine early in the am  in the summer.

  • 3 weeks later...

Went out yesterday on my lunch break. It was very windy and lots of chop. I ended up catching a nice 4.3 lb. w/ a black spinner bait. Only bite I had in 45 min. So far this year, I've only caught 2 here, but both have been good size fish. Hope the bite gets better as the water warms up.

fished 6 hours today at innsbrook only 3-4 bites and no fish landed, not my favorite kind of day, i threw everything i had out there and i couldnt get anything.
