Hey guys,

Have you recently experienced a little bass lock jaw?  I found that this to be true last year, exactly at this time of year.  Let me know if you guys are slaying them or are experiencing the same thing as I am.

Well, other than the dinks..it seems the "lockjaw" syndrom is in effect. We went to a popular "Bass" lake last Wed..conditions were almost perfect, we threw everything in the box, yet the bigger bass didn't seem to have any intrest..we caught lots of dinks, the would follow our swimbaits ect.

We did get a 5.5. lb'r in  3' of water, my guess the fish was lookin for bluegill in the rocks. Hopefully this lockjaw stuff wil vanish soon...comon Sept..and cooler weather.. :)

it's been difficult fishing in SGV (San Gabriel Valley) city lakes during this recent heatwave, but i'm still able to pull out a few in the early mornings (6am).

Try fishing at night.

Just think when its super hot outside do you want to do anything? When it cools off you will typically be more active too...

Yes, it is true that the bass tend to shutdown during high heat.  But, If your lucky and a little good.  You should be able to lay into some piggies in deeper water. ;)

ya the never ending 100 degree heat in riverside county don't really help the bite, however i have had a steady bite but nothing over 3 lbs.

Since it says you're from Ventura I'm guessing you are talking Casitas?

If so that use to be my home lake.  Summer time you can get some bigger ones early in the morning in shallow or head out to 20-25 ft and drag jigs or small swimbaits.
