Chills

Featured Replies

I got it bad.  I went to bed last night w/ a sore throat.  All night I was either boiling hot or would get a wicked chill and then be immediately hot again.

Temp is 101.  Any suggestions?  I need to sleep today, up all night.

I'm at my wits end, freezing, sweating and back again.  I took 3 aspirin to try and edge the fever off, would a cold shower kill me or help me?

That sucks man.  I don't think there is a magic cure for that.  All I know of is liquids and sleep which is not always the easiest thing to do.

I've been up all night too with some sort of stomach bug.  It has been coming out both ends if you catch my drift.  I have a concert to go to tonight too. >:(

Get well soon buddy.

Fluids all day long.

Tylenol as directed.

Rest.

Watch football games.

If not better by Sunday see a doctor.

Chicken soup, Ny-Quil, Advil and rest.

I hope you are feeling better soon.  :)

Not to scare you or anything, but I was that sick about a month ago and still its lingering in my system.  I have been on antibiotics, cough medicine, pain killers, you name it.  What helped me the most, though, was taking some Thera-Flu.  The warmth helps the throat, as well as the aspirin in it, plus there's a bit of a sleep aid in there, I think, or at least it almost always knocked me out within 45 mins. of drinking it.  Hope you feel better, guys!

The previous posts are right on! THERAFLU will Git er Dun!. Drink one wait 2 hours and drink another one. It works! Get well soon!

Ronnie

I like Sam's advice.

Fluids, rest, and tylenol are the basics.

Fluid intake is much more important than people than people realize.  Keeps the system moving, and hydrated.

I am a chronic label reader.  ALL of the thera flu's use tylenol as there basis so do not take tylenol if you are taking the theraflu.

Don't mess with that sore throat.  If it doesn't get better by Monday morning go see the doc.  It could be strep or other serious infection that requires antibiotics.

Zinc lozenges (coldeze) really work.  Get them.  Use them.  They will reduce the intensity and duration of symptoms.

Now for Avids secret cold remedy.

1. Turn up the thermostat

2. Bundle up.  You need to sweat profusely (don't forget the clear fluids like Gatoraide!!!!)

3. Make a cup of stron tea (Lipton is fine)

4. Add 1oz. of 4 year old scotch (no sense wasting the single malt)

5. Drink.

6. Keep sweating, keep drinking clear fluids (water, is fine)

7. Repeat steps 3-4-and 5 one more time if needed.

Good night, and get better really soon.

avid.

Ah LBH you've got it easy. Last night my younger sister had 6 friends sleep over in the bedroom next to mine. I didnt get a wink of sleep intill 2:30am. :(

I dont know what they where doing, but it sounded like they where playing pillowfight, who-can-scream-the-loudest and jump-rope all at the same time.

Then they woke me up at 7am running through the upstairs playing "hide-n-seek tag"

Gosh. I need to catch up on my beauty sleep.

I think the best thing for bolth our situations is a nice long nap. If you sleep for 2 hours in a cold room with sunlight coming through a window on your face, all bundled up, it will drain your head cold out. Atleast that always works for me.

Of course, a few pills and a warm cup of hot coco wont hurt anything eather. ;)

Get well soon

Matt

LBH,

Lots of fluids, rest and a hot toddy every 4 hrs.  Has worked for my family since I was 6 yrs old.. or so...  (mom would not give us a hot toddy till we were that old I guess.) :o :o

Funny, muddy man was up at 4:30 too and gave me the same recipe as Avid, almost word for word.  I went out and got some "airborn" and tylenol PM.

Made a toddy and passed out for a few solid hours.  Helped.

THANKS ALL!!

I AM STARTING TO GET THE FEELING THAT AVID IS MY BROTHER FROM ANOTHER MOTHER

LBH Its the New York Italin connection me and Avid were raised by similiar rule bkks ;)

Half a quart of tequila my man and a scoop of dirt.

Benefits:

1.- Viruses get drunk with tequila, when they are drunk the begin with drunk discussions, get mad at each other and begin to fight, dirt is so they can stone themselves to death when the fight begins.

2.- It may not cure you but after half a quart of tequila you forget you 've got a cold and don 't care.

I say sleep and soup, that always works for me...get well soon bud.

Airborne works great for colds and stuff. My mom uses it all the time since she is a flight attendent. Once she starts to feel sick, she drinks it and somehow doesnt get any worse. She will be completely healthy in a day or two. I dont know how it works for fevers and stuff though.

Get well soon LBH and KU!!

Actually, get well now!!!
