Success of "Freak" baits

Featured Replies

Recently I have been reading about the success of so called "freak" baits when nothing else is working.

Does anyone know if these baits work well, and if so what kind should I pick up as a student on a tight budget.

Never heard of it. What is a freak bait?

Freak baits are batis that don't represent any creature in particular (unlike lizards/frogs/worms/craws etc...). In the most recent issue of Bassin' magazine they suggest switching to these baits instead of using more traditional worms and such. Like I said, I just want to know if anyone has had success with these

"Freak" baits = creature baits

Several are very popular. I fish a few, independently and as a jig trailer. My favorites are the GYCB Kreature, Flappin' Hog and Reaction Innovation Double Wide Sweet Beaver.

Thanks,

I'll definitely have to check those out.

I'm trying to put a list together of the tackle I need to buy for this season and want to add these to it.

Oh! Well then, I know what they are. I have alot of success with GYCB Kreature. I know DBL Wide Beavers work wonders too.
