BPS Preferred Rewards Member

I got this letter today from BPS telling me I'm in the top 10% of BPS retail customers and I can get this preferred rewards card. I think the baitmonkey has infected me or something  ;D.

I'm sure some of you have this too. Looks like it has some nice benefits. What are your opinions?

A coupon for a free "Spring Fishing Master Catalog" came with it. That got me

Just wondering what folks that have this think about it.

A free catalog is a benefit?  Wow, I must be a super preferred member as I usually get 2-3 master catalogs each season.

I can't believe they actually expect people to pay for their catalogs in the stores.  I usually get 2-3 of every edition.

And I felt really really special that they gave me a coupon for a FREE MASTER CATALOG for being in the top 10%.

My wife and I use the BPS VISA card exclusively, as does my office.

I have had enough points to get $125 hunting boots free; points to purchase a lot of merchandise; and right now I have an $80 balance on my card so I can't wait for the BPS sale.

I suggest obtaining the BPS Credit Card and use it, only. The points will mount up and you can take the Bait Monkey as your friend when you go shopping!

I am a "Preferred Rewards Card" holder. Sure, everyone gets the catalog but, everyone doesn't get the added savings coupons that come out in the mail every once in a while....or at least that's what they tell me.

Frankly, I could care less what they call me, "preferred customer" or just plain ol' customer. I love BPS and would shop there without any benefits so I see the rewards card as a bonus. The rest of the discounts are icing on the cake that has already been iced.

You actually get some pretty useful coupons. 40% off BPS brand sunglasses etc.

I called the Rewards Points headquarters in Missouri the other day and the guy said you can set up your points two ways. The first being you get coupons in the mail, but if you don't add points to your card in 3 months they start to go away. The second being you don't get coupons but your points never go away, no matter how long between additions.  If you want to change the way yours is set up just call the 1-800 number on the back of your card.
