I was wandering if anyboday else in this forum has any type of musical talent. I personally play bass guitar.

Just the voice of an angel .... I've been known to throw it down pretty good on the karaoke stage every now and then.

Drums! I have not touched them for years but have started up playing again. The lifestyle around the music world ate me up and spit me out BELIEVE ME I WAS A WILLING PARTICIPANT. I would never consider playing for a living again but would love to play in a small time local blues/soul band again ;D

I've got Sonny Boy, Little and Big Walter, Junior Wells (maybe my favorite), James Cotton, Butterfield, Sonny Terry, and some more. My favorites are some of the tracks that Sonny Terry plays with Lightnin' Hopkins and Junior Wells playing with Buddy Guy.

I am probably going to see James Cotton play in April, I'm really excited.

I've heard about Charlie Musselwhite but I don't have any of his songs and I have heard of Lee Oskar because I have a Lee Oskar harp.

Im gunna take a wild guess and say its an epiphone( i have one that looks very similar to that maybe a little newer)

i was raised on the drums, picked up guitar at 9, picked up bass at 12, then concentrated on drums for a few years, now i play banjo and guitar almost full time. i sometimes play solo acoustic shows.

It is a Fraley.  Hand-made by my cousin.  Purchased by my grandfather in 97 after my grandmother died.

I wish I could play the banjo.  My grandfather gave me his about a month before he died.  I get it out every now and then and play with it a bit.  About all I can play is Dueling Banjos (not the runs, etc).  My fingers just don't have the mojo for it.

I play the acoustic guitar and sing for a bluegrass group. My brother plays the banjo. We have a website on my profile if anyone is interested.

Hey Burley and Troutfisher my exposure to bluegrass has been minimal. Mostly covers by the Band,Johnny Cash etc. If I want to go back and listen to the masters and the originators whou should i be Listening to?

I'm not an avid bluegrass follower but my Dad loves it.  I always liked the guys below.

Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs with the Foggy Mountain Boys (They did the theme to the Beverly Hillbillies.)

I play the electric and acoustic guitar. I would post pics but they always show up as red x's. I still can't get it to work when I try to post a pic. Anyway, I play classic rock, southern rock, and blues. I've been playing since fourth grade, so it's been about nine years since I first started. My electric is a Johnson (looks like a stratocaster) and my acoustic is an Ovation Pinnacle OP30.

Muddy, Senile said it best.  Flatt and Scruggs are great, as well as the bluegrass doctor himself, Bill Monroe.  I bet you would enjoy their work, and if you get the chance, some of the newer groups such as the Grascals and Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder are good as well.
