Gum or mints are also good choices.  You need something to take your mind off the cravings.

Heck, even sex works in a pinch.   ;)

I know how you feel.  I quit smoking 10 days ago after smoking for 45 years.  I am eating everthing in sight.  If I keep this up my buddy will have to roll me in the boat at Lake Fork.

Sunflower seeds works well but, you really need to go to your family Doc. He has some aids that will help you. You went this far, go to the Docs office. :)

Go to your local drug store and get the nicotine patches.. it will help, trust me..  Then just slowly work down in the strength of a patch.. the actual dependency goes away in 3-4 days.. the mental part, takes weeks..  you just have to tell yourself you are gonna beat it..

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

I hear that the patches do work.

Hey think about it this way. A couple cavities are a lot better than cancer of the mouth.

Good Luck! My wife's trying to quit smoking cigs right now and it's brutal. Tobacco's not an easy thing to quit. But the benefits are tremendous.

A buddy of mine got off the chaw a few years ago, and told me that "Big League Chew" bubble gum was great since it came in a pouch and he could wedge a blob in his mouth just like chaw, which somewhat alleviated the mental addiction
