Man, I hate to hear that...

As long as you still have one good arm to lift that beer, you'll be o.k..........

Seriously though.........I hope things get better for you man! That cant be any fun......... :-[

the former.....7.62 round to the upper arm.....torn artery, muscle, and lots a NOT fun!!  Operation just cause turned into operation just cuz I had a leaky arm....ugh

Shoulder problems reek when it comes to fishing, I know.  Here's something to think about till August.  After years of abuse as a youngin, my right shoulder is gone.  It partially dislocates whenever I do something that involves a follow through like fishing.  I won't have surgery, and I can't cast worth crap with my left arm.  Last year I fished for a month with wide ace bandages binding my upper arm to my body.  All casting was done with the forearm and wrist.  You lose some distance but it's worth it not to have the pain.  After a month you don't need the bandages anymore, and it gets to feel normal casting with your upper arm tight against the body, although it looks a little mooky.

Sorry to hear that, but you guys did a good job over there and you can still fish so even though I don't want to minimize what you went through it sounds like your ok.

I hope Uncle Sam is doing the right thing each month.

Avid sorry to hear your bum luck. it is not quite the same as rotator cuff surgery but I had torn ligaments in my left shoulder many years ago from a a M cycle accident. The shoulder I had repaired feels better than the one that never got hurt. The surgery was cake, re-hab was easy in my case just had to swing my arm for a couple of weeks then good as new.

I had 2 advantages, I was only in early 20's at the time and I lucked into a D^*% good surgeon. The doc's to this day see my scar and apparently I had the Bab Ruth of surg's ( the best).

Probably not apples to apples

If I needed it again I would have surge w/o hesitation.

Avid,

Yeah for the most part I ended up fine.  I healed just in time to make the first gulf war, then onto somalia, helped to settle a coup attempt in haiti, visited columbia for a bit, then managed to spend 3 years in Iraq this go round.  Nicked up here and there along the way, but nothing more than scars now, and perhaps a mildly sick sence of humor....

We gotta get that wing of your in shape as there is alot of good times and fishing ahead of us!
