Has anyone tried Doug Hannon's plastic snake lure?

I've seen it advertised on this website. I would think it has many advantages over the real thing, not the least of which is that it doesn't leave you with lacerating bite wounds when it get mad at you. ;)

By the looks of the background and considering the fact that I saw two snakes swimming in the water that looked like that one when I was there last, I would have to say it looks like ya are at Morris Creek. How do you rig one of those things? Maybe a texas rig? haha. I am pretty curious though as to how the snake made it into the boat  ;D

That is Morris Creek.  I fished there a few days ago and must have seen 15 or more snakes.  The Chick River and tributaries are crawling with Northern Watersnakes.  My snake-fascination got the better of me.  I saw this one swimming along so I pulled up behind it and grabbed it and threw it in the boat.  I caught a Ribbon Snake in the same way on that same day.  But it didn't try to maim me.

What? :o

I've always tried to keep them OUT of the boat

Very cool my friends and I like to look for unusual snakes while fishing. We've seen some cool ones like northern hognose and the small worm snakes (might not be the actual name but they sure are interesting).

looks like he got you pretty good.  I know around me i don't mess with the snakes cause we have a lot of cottonmouths(waer moccasins) and they are more than aggressive.  I have had a few follow me around the lake and actually come at me when i was completley ignoring them.  Mean things.

I have seen large bass small watersnakes around in my friend's lake. Those lures just may work in some places...

Wait a second here,

His snakes are great lures.

I use them with alot of success here in Florida.

Pitch them up on the bank and let them slither right into the weedy stuff.

great baits.
