  1. They are definitely my go to bait. They always seem to produce for me. While the GYCB are great, they dont tend to hold up long enough for me. My favorite stick baits are the A lluring B aits slaty tricksticks great action and can get 25 for around $7. And they hold up great!
  2. Well its been a while since I've been bass fishing I moved to Gainesville, FL a while back for work and really haven't had time to get out fishing and when I did i did a lot of inshore fishing for Reds. But i have definitely gotten the big again. Just wanted to say hi and throw up a couple old pics from my old house. Caught this one on a trickstick off the dock. Man I miss this pond. Always produced and had nobody fishing it but the residents. ANyway she weighed in at 7.2#. Hope everyones year is getting a good start and I hope to be showing off some more of these FL beauties soon!
  3. http://www.lenssportfishing-bc.com/sturgeon-fishing.htm heres another bigun i saw in an article recenlty. it was caught a couple years back.
  4. hey acitually i am in FL. we were fishing in titusville. The reds were caught on a miroor lure that i found in a tree. the tarpon was on a chug bug, the other tarpon was on a terroreyez, and the snook was on a topwater plug. Thanks for the comments.
  5. thanks everybody. ya it was def a fun weekend!
  6. ya a inshore slam here is a trout, redfish, and snook. the tarpon makes it a grandslam. it was a hell of a weekend!
  7. A couple of buddies and I were fishing out near mosquito lagoon and between the three of us caught an inshore grandslam! I dont have any pictures of the trout but here are some pics from Fri and Sun. Buddy Steve with 26.5" snook. 1.5" short Tom with small red Tom with baby tarpon Me with 23" red Me with 27" 8.2lb red! My first baby tarpon!
  8. So i had 3 hours to kill between classes today s i decided to hunt for some new ponds. I found a few right near the college i go to (UCF) and started throwing a topwater with no luck. I switched to a senko and had one bite. A very small largemouth maybe half a pound. haha :-[ So i noticed another lake across the street and headed over to it. I began throwing a bitters buzzin gator in green pumpkin. not five minutes after i started throwing it i saw a fin surface. at first i thought it was a grass carp but it was acting really strange. It was the tail of a fish eating off the bottom like redfish do. I wanted to see what it was so i threw the frog out and began burning it across the top of the water and the tail turned and waked my frog. It inhaled my lure and dove straight down. I had to muscle it out of the hydrilla which took about 6 or 7 minutes but when i finally did, to my surprise it was a 6 lb largemouth!! She was guthooked and my pliers were in my car parked at a hotel across the street. So bass and fishing pole in hand i stopped traffic and ran to the car got my pliers un hooked her and ran back across the street to release her. She didn't want to swim for a while so i tried and tried to revive her. After about 3 or 4 minutes with no movement i thought i was gonna have to bring her home and have some bass for dinner but when i reached down to try and revive her again she kicked off very strong and swam away ;D. It definatley made my day because that was the biggest bass i have caught in a while and the only bad thing was, this was the first day in pretty much my life that my camera was left at home. :'( oh well i guess. I had a fan club awaiting at the hotel who had seen me running with the fish haha all congratulating me 8-) haha it was a great day to fish!
  9. haha. that was hilarious. hats off to you sir. fourbizzle looks like yall had a great tourney.
  10. i agree with a gheenoe. they are amazing. I had a buddy lose his pole in the lake and i jumped in to get it. I climed right back in over the side of the boat and it didnt capsize. I am 215lbs and for it not to take in anywater or flip, it says a lot.
  11. another thing to look into is a used 13' gheenoe. they are small and if you look around you can find a good one for about 2700 with trailer, motor, etc. They are extremely stable and are great to fish from. search on craigslist.com to try and find stuff in your area.
  12. They were both mine. I guess the way i said it it can be confusing. I caught two bass on one rattle trap with one cast at the same time. It was fun as can be!
  13. I went out with my buddy today and caught my first double on a rattletrap! It was awesome. We busted the camera out and he turns it on, "change battery pack"! :'( oh well even though i didn't get the picture it was a lot of fun and a great day! I caught 5 bass the biggest being 2lb 8oz and 1 3lb pickrel. MY buddy ended up with 8 bass the biggest being 3lb 5oz. All i know is next time i am gonna make sure the batteries aren't dead and i have spares. Fun day all in all!
  14. found it and it looks good. Still intact and it comes with an extra so if it did blow easy replacement. but that checked out. any other suggestions would be greatley appreciated. thanks for the thoughts.
  15. My buddys 1995 Yamaha Outboard 3cyl 90hp wont start and we cant figure out why. When we turn the key we get nothing. The killswitch is attached and the battery is working because all of the lights turn on. The throttle is in nuetral and everything in sight seems to be hooke up correctly. Looking at the motor we found an "emergency switch" that when pressed down the motor will start. The switch looks a lot like the killswitch on the column but is laying looses only attached by a couple wires. When we use this button and the motor is running, the engine still turns off when the killswitch is released. ANy ideas of what could be wrong and ways to fix them?
  16. hey all! i have never fished a swimbait and am looking to give it a try. i was wondering what some good lures are that yall suggest that are somewhat easy on the pocket but have showed you good success. I wanna use them for a while then move up to the big boys(mattslures) thanks! Drew
  17. congrats man. thats a pretty looking fish. keep em comin'!
  18. why dont you try topwater if you seen them hit the top. Also when you fish soft plastics do you fish them weightless? If not give that a try, they shold sit on top of the vegetation. THats exactly how my pond looks. Also if there is lillipads try a frog or even if there is not, they usually produce great for me in ponds. One last thing is try some crankbaits, spinnerbaits that are shallow divers that will swim on top of the vegetation. Bass love to ambush from the weeds and may produce good strikes. let us know how you do there.
  19. rocknfish you knwo thats the truth about those pics. it takes some practice for sure!
  20. my recomendation is to us braid and keep your rod tip up at about 11 oclock. when you get a hit lower your rod and set the hook. the time it takes to lower the rod should be enough to make sure the lure is in the mouth but not too long to where it will get spit back out. just my 0.02$
  21. weightless trick stick t-rigged works amazing for me. produces a lot of bass and big ones too!
  22. i have actually had great success with these. I have caught a lot of bass and some pretty big ones on the horny toad. Maybe im just in the right place at the right time but i really like this lure.
  23. thanks lightninrod, ya i need to do somethin like a tripod. usually i am with a buddy or two, but today i wanted some quality time on the lake alone. Its nice like that you know. I have seen the bass you catch and they do look a lot alike. Whereabout are you usually fishin?
  24. I went out to the lake i used to live on today for a couple of hours. I just bought a new spinning combo and wanted to try it out. My second cast, 4lb on the nose. Then a few little ones then a 3lb 9oz. A few for little ones, then a 3lb 2oz. I also lost another one due to an old rod i was using. It pretty much has no backbone and i don't think the hook set was very good. Oh well. Two hours on the lake and 3 nice fish. It was a good day. The 4lber was on a watermelon seed zoom horny toad, the 3lb 9oz was on an *** *** black and blue, and the 3lb 2oz was on a watermelon xmas Bitters Buzz'n Gator. 3lb 2oz 3lb 9oz 4lber another of the 4lber ps sorry for the crappy pics its hard to take pics of yourself and fish haha. My buddys red from yesterday
  25. Thats awesome. Your a good man!
